Photo Exhibition: Paris, Hier et Aujourd’hui – Paris, Yesterday and Today

Fancy a walk of history, art, culture and everything in-between in Paris through the lens of professional photographers across decades? Then take delight, make time, and venture to visit the photography exhibition Paris, Hier et Aujourd’hui (Paris, Yesterday and Today) at the Notre Dame High School in Harbiye.

ParisThe exhibition will run until December 12th and features around one hundred photos capturing moments through the lens of photographers of SIPA Press since the 1950s.

It is a delight not only for enthusiasts of photography, but also for those fascinated by the eternal city of Paris. The photographs featured capture not only events, people, and places of importance, but also moments from everyday life throughout the 1940’s into the present day.

It is a fusion of artistic and news photography and a cultural, historical and anthropoligical glimpse into the recent history of Paris. All photos are in black and white. An ingenious method of alignment has been devised so that each photo is positioned both within its era of time, while also being integrated into photos of the previous and future decades.

Paris, Hier et Aujourd’hui (Paris, Yesterday and Today) will run until December 12th everday except Sundays, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., at the Gallery of the Notre-Dame de Sion High School located in Harbiye.
