(Feb 10) Marc Romboy @ Zorlu PSM

Zorlu PSM will host Marc Romboy on Saturday 10 February. Doors are set to open at 22:00, with tickets priced at 40 TL for students and 60 TL for adults and available via Biletix.

From the organizer:

Marc Romboy, the German DJ/producer who established himself as one of the leading figures of the techno and house music scenes since the 90s, will be in #studio on February 10 with his DJ set!

The record collection of his parents was a huge factor in Marc Romboy’s interest in music. As he grew up listening to the albums of The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd, the root of Romboy’s career can be traced back to Kraftwerk’s 1978 single The Robots. He started his first tries as a DJ among friends at age 10, but it was the 80s which truly shaped Marc Romboy’s musical identity. Deeply influenced by the scenes of Detroit and Chicago, Romboy steered towards dance music.

Le Petit Prince, the record label which was founded by Romboy and Klaus Derichs in 1994, quickly became one of the most important underground labels of Germany.  With their label, Romboy and Derichs released records of Microwave Prince, Emmanuel Top, Thomas P. Heckmann and Phuture until 2000. During the same period, Romboy started his works as a DJ. After appearing in prestigious clubs around the world including Berghain and Fabric, Romboy founded his second record label Systematic in 2004 and his highly acclaimed debut album Gemini was released on this label in 2006. Systematic went on to release the albums of John Dahlbäck, Abysm, Blake Baxter, Robert Owens, Stephan Bodzin, Gui Boratto, Spirit Catcher and Dusty Kid, along with Romboy’s second album Contrast.

Since 2009, Marc Romboy has been reaching a wide audience with his radio program Systematic Sessions, which airs on 20 radio channels throughout the world.

Marc Romboy has also gained critical acclaim with his collaboration records with Stephan Bozdin, especially Atlas and Callisto which has shaken the techno and house scenes. The success of these two records led the duo to release an album titled Luna, which was backed up with a worldwide tour.

On February 10th,  #studio will host Marc Romboy, a groundbreaking figure of electronic music since the 90s!
