From the organizer:

Büyük Ev Ablukada, an Istanbul-based band that has gained acclaim with its sound, lyrics and authentic style, while being a pioneer to a new musical movement that is yet to be named, will be at the #studio on May 27th with an acoustic performance, as a part of their concert series called “Ay Şuram Ağrıyo”!

All of the group members are referred to with their pseudonyms. After starting out as a duo in 2008, Canavar Banavar (actor Bartu Küçükçağlayan) and Afordisman Salihins (Cem Yılmazer) added Bas Bariton, Gelicem Nerdesin, Bentek Sizhepiniz and Galvaniz Gelbiraz to the crew. Named after a Turgut Uyar poem, Büyük Ev Ablukada began their live performance series named “Ay Şuram Ağrıyo”. The influence of the Turkish Second New Poetry was also apparent in their lyrics. Director Berkun Oya and actors Onur Ünsal and Okan Yalabık used to regularly accompany them during earlier shows. The videos from their live acoustic performance in Çıplak Ayaklar Kumpanyası went viral because of the fun atmosphere and improvized words among songs such as “Lilililerde” and “Tayyar Ahmet’in Sonsuz Sayılı Günleri”. Their “Full Faça – Dünya’nın son konseri” performance on December 21st, which humorously referenced the end of the world rumours regarding December 22nd 2012, had the same name as the album they later published on their own “Olmadı Kaçarız” record. Having recently released two songs from their latest album “Fırtınayt”, Büyük Ev Ablukada also took the stage at Zorlu PSM on September 30 as a part of the MIX Festival.

Büyük Ev Ablukada is known for its sublime live performances that consist of funny interactions with the audience and various surprises. On May 27th, #studio is expecting anyone who wishes to listen to their new electronic sound and sing along as they play the older songs with an acoustic performance as a part of their “Ay Şuram Ağrıyo” concert series!
