(June 30) Trivium @ Maximum Uniq Açıkhava

Trivium return to Türkiye on Tuesday 30 June for a performance at Maximum Uniq Açıkhava, presented by Stagepass. Joining the Florida metal veterans are Norwegian modern metal act Chontaraz and Italian melodic death metal band Lunarsea, creating a lineup that spans several generations and interpretations of contemporary heavy music. For Trivium, the show marks a long-awaited return and arrives at a point where the band’s influence on twenty-first-century metal is firmly established. Tickets are available via Passo.

Formed in Orlando in 1999, Trivium emerged during a period of transition for heavy music, combining the technical precision of metalcore and melodic death metal with elements drawn from thrash, black metal, and classic heavy metal. Their breakthrough came with 2005’s Ascendancy, an album widely regarded as one of the defining metal releases of its era. Praised for its balance of aggression, melody, and musicianship, the record helped establish the group internationally and remains a cornerstone of their catalog. Over the following two decades, Trivium continued to evolve through albums such as Shogun, In Waves, The Sin and the Sentence, and In the Court of the Dragon, refining a sound that consistently bridges accessibility and technical ambition.

Fronted by vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy alongside Corey Beaulieu, Paolo Gregoletto, and Alex Bent, the band has built a reputation as one of modern metal’s most reliable live acts. Their ability to move between intricate musicianship, memorable hooks, and intense live energy has allowed them to share stages with artists ranging from Metallica and Iron Maiden to newer generations of heavy bands. While trends within metal have shifted repeatedly since their formation, Trivium have remained relevant through a willingness to develop their sound without abandoning its foundations.

Opening the evening, Chontaraz bring a contemporary approach to heavy music that blends modern metal, industrial textures, and cinematic electronic elements. The Norwegian group has steadily developed a reputation for ambitious production and a futuristic aesthetic that sets them apart within the European metal scene.

Also appearing are Lunarsea, whose melodic death metal draws from the traditions established by the influential Scandinavian scene while incorporating progressive and modern influences of their own. Active for more than two decades, the Italian band have cultivated a dedicated following through a series of releases that combine technical musicianship with strong melodic songwriting.

Together, the three acts offer a broad view of modern metal, from Trivium’s arena-sized blend of melody and intensity to the darker and more experimental approaches represented by Chontaraz and Lunarsea. For fans of contemporary heavy music, the evening presents a lineup shaped by both established influence and ongoing evolution.
