Hailing from Wrocław, Poland, Błoto emerged spontaneously in the summer of 2018, forming during a journey through small villages and forests. Their music channels the legacy of Krzysztof Komeda, the pioneer of European jazz, while forging a path entirely their own. Their debut album, Erozje, released just before the pandemic, sold out quickly and set the tone for their unconventional sound.
Over the years, Błoto has released a string of thought-provoking albums, including Kwiatostan and Kwasy i zasady, which delve into themes of interpersonal relationships and the tumultuous nature of modern life. Their latest project, We Remember J Dilla, is a powerful reinterpretation of the iconic beats of hip-hop legend J Dilla, blending these timeless rhythms with their distinct “Błotoish” touch.
With uncompromising basslines, brutal drum patterns, and a fearless approach to improvisation, Błoto delivers a soundscape that’s as captivating as it is thought-provoking. At their first-ever performance in Istanbul, the Salon audience will groove to reimagined hip-hop beats intertwined with the avant-garde energy of jazz fusion.
