Jakuzi broke into global consciousness with their seminal 2017 debut album Fantezi Music, originally released via Domuz Records before quickly getting picked up and reissued worldwide by Berlin based imprint City Slang. Breakthrough tracks like Koca Bir Saçmalık established their signature sound, pairing upbeat danceable rhythm structures with bleak melancholic storytelling that resonated far beyond native Turkish speakers. The album earned praise from international music publications for bridging Eastern European post-punk minimalism with accessible synth-pop hooks.
Their sophomore record Hata Payı arrived in 2019, broadening their sonic palette under the production guidance of Taner Yücel and pitch-perfect engineering from Maurizio Baggio. The album delved into heavier gothic textures, richer synth arrangements, and brooding basslines, reflecting a mature continuation of their core themes regarding mental health and urban isolation. Over the years, the group has evolved from a studio-focused recording outfit into a formidable live act, performing across major European festivals and club venues while continually redefining contemporary dark pop music on their own terms.
