(June 20) Chris Isaak @ Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre

American singer-songwriter and actor Chris Isaak will perform in Istanbul on Saturday 20 June at Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre as part of Epifoni’s 10th anniversary concert series. Known for his velvety voice and timeless blend of rock and roll, rockabilly, and Americana, Isaak has spent more than four decades crafting songs that combine classic 1950s influences with a modern, cinematic melancholy. Tickets are available via Passo.

Isaak first rose to international prominence with his 1989 album Heart Shaped World, which featured the haunting hit “Wicked Game.” The song became a defining moment in his career, gaining global recognition after appearing in David Lynch’s film Wild at Heart and later becoming one of the most recognizable ballads of its era. With its echoing guitar lines and Isaak’s emotionally restrained vocal delivery, the track helped establish his signature style, rooted in vintage rock influences but unmistakably his own.

Across a discography that spans more than a dozen studio albums, including Silvertone, San Francisco Days, and Forever Blue, Isaak has maintained a distinctive sound shaped by twangy guitar tones, noir-like romanticism, and understated storytelling. Songs such as “Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing” and “Blue Hotel” further cemented his reputation as a songwriter capable of blending nostalgia with contemporary appeal.

Beyond music, Isaak has built a parallel career in film and television, appearing in projects such as The Silence of the Lambs and hosting his own Showtime series The Chris Isaak Show. His work across different mediums reflects the same retro-inspired aesthetic that defines his music, drawing inspiration from classic American pop culture.

With a catalog of enduring songs and a stage presence shaped by decades of touring, Chris Isaak’s Istanbul performance promises an evening of romantic rock and roll, atmospheric ballads, and the timeless sound that has made him one of the genre’s most recognizable voices.
