Enter into the golden age of tango with Cuarteto SolTango and the renowned Leonel Capitano, as they bring their celebrated album project Poesía to life with their performance at the IKSV 53rd Music Festival on Sunday 22 June in Istanbul. Tickets are available at Passo.
Cuarteto SolTango is celebrated for their ability to merge the authentic sound of a traditional tango orchestra (orquesta típica) with the refined precision of a classical chamber ensemble. Their performances bring the golden age of tango to life, offering a fresh yet deeply nostalgic experience. The ensemble has received acclaim from both the classical and tango communities, praised for their expressive interpretations and technical mastery.
Leonel Capitano is a multifaceted tango artist—singer, bandoneonist, composer, researcher, and educator. His deep, warm tenor voice and ability to accompany himself on the bandoneon set him apart in the tango world. Capitano began singing tango at the age of three and joined a professional orquesta típica as a teenager.
Cuarteto SolTango and Leonel Capitano joined forces for Poesía, an album and concert project that pays homage to the great Argentine poets who shaped tango’s lyrical tradition. The album stands out for its carefully curated repertoire, featuring lesser-known gems alongside classic tango pieces. Grab your tickets now at Passo.
