As part of the IKSV 52nd Istanbul Music Festival, Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra, led by the esteemed conductor Aziz Shokhakimov, presents a captivating musical feast featuring star cellist Edgar Moreau as the soloist. The concert programme showcases a diverse array of masterpieces, beginning with Charles Gounod’s enchanting ballet music from the opera “Faust,” setting a mesmerizing tone for the evening. Moreau takes center stage for Camille Saint-Saëns’ exquisite Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor, op. 33, demonstrating his virtuosity and artistry.

Following an interval, the orchestra transports audiences on a captivating journey with Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov’s evocative “Scheherazade,” op. 35, weaving a tapestry of Oriental melodies and Arabian Nights tales. With a duration of approximately 90 minutes including an interval, this concert promises to be a true musical feast, showcasing the talents of both the orchestra and the star soloist.
