From the organizer:

Born in Beirut and migrated to the southern town of İskenderun in Turkey at the age of 2. Graduated from American Language and Literature, Bilkent University, Ankara and moved to Istanbul in pursuit of her passion for music. Met with Bülent Ortaçgil by coincidence, who admired her songs and paved the way to a contract with Ada Muzik, from which she released her first album ‘Uyan’. Songs like ‘Leyla’ and ‘Gidersen’ quickly became hits, putting smiles on our faces. Second album ‘Hayat’ came in 2010, followed by ‘Sarı’ in 2012. Travelling between light jazz and pop while flirting with Middle Eastern tunes, Barbur is the embodiment of the peace of mind. Her latest album ‘Sizler Hiç Yokken’ was released in 2014. Barbur is also known for her soundtracks for remarkable theatre plays and films, a book titled ‘Çatıdaki Çimenler – Sen’e Yazılar’, and short stories, poems and essays she wrote for journals like ‘Kültür Mafyası’ and ‘OTDERGİ’.
