George van den Broek started playing music at the age of 11 with a guitar he received as a Christmas present. Influenced by Ray Charles, Mac DeMarco, and Thundercat, he began releasing stand-alone singles as a teen in late 2015. He collected his initial singles in Harmless Melodies. His debut LP, Is Everything Okay in Your World?, featured a guest spot by hip-hop artist Rejjie Snow. ‘Gap in the Clouds’ from his first EP, accompanied the trailer for the second season of Donald Glover’s show, Atlanta. He moved to Los Angeles in 2017 and played club shows in the US that quickly sold out, before continuing his European tour. He sourced new inspiration from local collaborators for his second full-length, A Day in a Yellow Beat, recorded in the US. His latest EP, Inner Peace, self-produced in his East London home studio, brings an extraordinary piece to the genres of psychedelic rock and jazz funk. ‘I’m always in the studio – I love touring and playing shows but I’m definitely a studio guy’ says van den Broek, ‘it’s my life and I love it.’
