(Aug 29) David Garrett @ Cemil Topuzlu Harbiye Open Air Theatre

Violinist David Garrett brings his Millennium Symphony Open Air Tour 2026 to Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theatre on Saturday 29 August, presented by Stagepass. One of the leading figures in crossover classical music, Garrett has built an international career by reimagining pop and rock repertoire through virtuosic violin performance, blending orchestral arrangements with contemporary songwriting. The current tour centres on his latest album Millennium Symphony, which revisits some of the defining pop hits of the past quarter century through a symphonic lens. Tickets are available via Biletinial.

A child prodigy who studied at the Royal College of Music in London, Garrett first established himself in the classical world before expanding into crossover projects that introduced violin to a much broader audience. His albums Virtuoso, Rock Symphonies and Alive – My Soundtrack showcased interpretations of artists ranging from Metallica and Guns N’ Roses to Coldplay, while maintaining a foundation in classical technique. Across more than three decades, he has collaborated with orchestras around the world and become one of the best-selling instrumental artists of his generation.

With Millennium Symphony, Garrett turns his attention to the pop catalogue of the 2000s and beyond, transforming songs by artists including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd into expansive orchestral arrangements. Rather than treating these works as straightforward covers, he reshapes familiar melodies into cinematic performances that bridge classical tradition and modern popular music.

Garrett’s live performances combine technical precision with arena-scale production, moving comfortably between concert hall virtuosity and rock concert energy. Backed by his band and orchestra, the Millennium Symphony tour reflects the genre-crossing approach that has defined his career while demonstrating how classical performance continues to evolve through dialogue with contemporary music.
