On Monday 20 July, Kneecap performs at KüçükÇiftlik Park, presented by Epifoni and URU. The Belfast-based hip-hop trio has gained international attention for their high-energy performances and politically charged lyrics, blending Irish-language rap with elements of electronic music and punk-influenced attitude. Tickets available via Biletix.
Formed in 2017, the group consists of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí. Their music moves between Irish and English lyrics while addressing themes such as youth culture, identity, language rights and political expression in Northern Ireland. Early tracks like “C.E.A.R.T.A.” helped the trio build a reputation for combining satire, activism and sharp storytelling.
Across the past few years, Kneecap has expanded its reach well beyond the Irish underground scene. Albums such as 3CAG and Fine Art introduced their hybrid approach to hip-hop, while international festival appearances and a feature film about the band further broadened their audience. Their upcoming album Fenian continues this trajectory, mixing hip-hop with influences from acid house, trip-hop and dubstep.
Live performances are central to the group’s identity. Kneecap’s shows are known for their raw energy and collective atmosphere, often turning concerts into participatory experiences where audience and performers share the same charged momentum. Their Istanbul appearance promises an evening shaped by driving beats, provocative lyricism and the group’s unmistakable stage presence.
