(PAST EVENT) Shame / Black Midi @ Zorlu PSM 100% Studio

Zorlu PSM will host post-punk’s Shame and British rock outfit Black Midi on Friday 4 February. Taking place at 100% Studio, doors are set to open at 20:30, with the performances starting at 21:30. Tickets are available via Passo and more information is available via the official event page.

Shame
British post-punk band Shame, which debuted in 2016 with their singles ‘Gold Hole’ and ‘The Lick’, started to make a name for themselves with Songs of Praise, which they released at the beginning of 2018. They remained on the chart for 2 weeks, peaking at number 32 on the UK Albums Chart.

With the album Drunk Tank Pink, which they released at the beginning of this year, they received positive reviews from respected publications such as NME, Paste and Clash, and managed to enter the radar of music lovers.

Black Midi
Formed in 2017, British rock band Black Midi consists of Geordie Greep, Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin, Cameron Picton and Morgan Simpson. Deriving their name from the Japanese musical genre black MIDI, the band is inspired by experimental rock, math rock, noise rock and post-punk elements in their music.

The group started with record producer Dan Carey’s label Speedy Wunderground and released their first single “bmbmbm” in 2018. They release their debut studio album Schlagenheim, produced by Carey, on June 21, 2019, via Kaba Ticaret Records. The critically acclaimed UK Album Chart entry 50 and a 2019 Mercury Award nomination.

An anthology album containing several recorded songs and spoken word fragments is The Black Midi Anthology Vol. 1: Tales of Suspense and Revenge was released exclusively to Bandcamp on June 5, 2020. Second studio albums, Cavalcade, were released on May 28, 2021.
