From the organizer:

Spoken Word İstanbul, the leading open-microphone event in Istanbul is organizing the 2nd Writers’ Retreat in Datça, Muğla to the southwest of Turkey. The first retreat in June proved to be a unique and fruitful experience for all participants who came from different writing backgrounds and genres. Writers worked alone, joined each other for daily feedback sessions but also made sure they took daily trips to the beach and enjoyed local specialties both at the hotel and in downtown Datça.

Motivated by the success of the first one, the SWI group is organizing another retreat between October 24 and 30. The accommodation will be at a single-story hotel on a hilltop sprawling over a garden with orange and olive groves. Prices vary from 135 TL to 290 TL per night depending on the type of room and number of persons. Writers can join anytime during the week of October 24.

2nd SPI Writers' Retreat

Spoken Word Istanbul is a community of writers, among a great variety of creative souls, who perform mostly original work every Tuesday at Arsen Lüpen. This is the second time we’re going out of Istanbul to organize another writers’ retreat. Any writer who is interested in a little bit of time away from the hustle and bustle of Istanbul and in finding inspiration in the Mediterranean along with kindred spirits are welcome to join the group. Current deadline for application is October 9. Late applications will be accepted according to availability.
