The Art of Nothing in Istanbul

Nothing: nothing to do, nothing to fix. No work to go to, no garden to tend. No meetings to go to, no dance classes…absolutely nothing to do except watch the world go by.

Chris is a footloose semi-nomad whose travel addiction was created by a childhood in Asia and Africa as part of the diaspora whose parents worked for airlines. His nomadic childhood eventually washed him up on the shores of Australia where he has spent a half a lifetime working for a variety of environmental and indigenous organisations. A brief spell as a journalist gave him delusions about his writing ability resulting in half a computer full of quarter written novels and two blogs full of posts which attempt to be smarter than they really are. He has now washed up in Istanbul in an urban version of the Beach where in common with every other expatriate Australian coffee snob his life is spent looking for decent coffee, writing, volunteering and travelling around the region. He writes his own travel blog which is regularly read by about two people and their dogs.
