Stress Dance/Yoga Therapy Workshop @ Şiddetsizlik Eğitim ve Araştırma Merkezi

Şiddetsizlik Eğitim ve Araştırma Merkezi (Nonviolent Education and Research Association) in Cihangir is organizing a stress dance/yoga therapy workshop for yoga practitioners for all levels on Friday 1 December at 19:00. In this workshop participants will learn different breathing techniques, yoga, and dance therapy movements that will help them cope with their stress in a healthy, nonviolent way. The workshop is free of charge; however, donations are welcomed.

About the instructor: Renk Koçtürk has spent most of her life in New York City. For the past 2,5 years, she’s been living in Istanbul. Aside from being a professional dancer, she is a certified alignment yoga instructor, and dance/yoga therapist. She has worked with children and adults of all ages and abilities. She has worked in the United States, Thailand, and Turkey. Renk’s workshops consist of breath work, yoga therapy centered around healing specific topics, and movement therapy focusing on empowering movement, authentic movement, and healing through dance.

About the organizer: Şiddetsizlik Eğitim ve Araştırma Merkezi (Nonviolent Education and Research Association) dreams of a nonviolent world, and to achieve it they organize training, produce knowledge and share their resources. Their methods are non-hierarchical, participative and based on solidarity and consensus. In this context, they aim to develop nonviolent and creative struggle and policy instruments, to share these instruments and to empower everyone struggling for a nonviolent world. They believe a world without discrimination and oppression, where social justice exists and conflicts are solved in nonviolent ways, is possible.
