I recently sat down with Sandrine Ramboux and learned more about her latest project: C@rma. Set on making a difference, Sandrine is vigilant in bringing more awareness to the taboo surrounding donations and volunteering and Turkey. She works with NGOs and volunteers to close the gap between the desire to give back to the community and actually doing it. Learn a little about Yesilist’s May Eco-Pioneer, Sandrine Ramboux, and what she had to say about C@rma and its inner workings.
If you are anything like me and have lived in Istanbul long enough, you’ve realized there is not much of a volunteer culture. Not that people don’t want to get involved in such activities – they simply don’t know how to go about it. Sandrine told Yesilist, “Volunteering is a relatively unknown concept here, for both the prospective volunteer and the involved NGO, so it requires a lot of explaining.”
If you and your friends are looking for volunteering opportunities or work for an NGO that is looking for volunteers, read more about what C@rma can do for you.
