Hailing from Stockolm, gothic metal band Tiamat will be uniting with fans once again in Istanbul after a long time. With lead vocalist and guitarist Johan Edlund the band will be hitting the Küçükçiftlik stage on Sunday, 2nd of October. 100% Metal Proudly Presents: TIAMAT will be at KüçükÇiftlik Bahçe on October 2 with a special setlist consisting of songs from the albums “Clouds” and “Wildhoney”! In the second half of the 80s, at the same time as their American colleagues, Swedish musicians also laid the foundations of their own death metal sounds. Described as Swedish Death Metal, this genre had a more melodic and more variable structure than its American counterparts. One of the first examples of this kind, Treblinka took the name Tiamat just a few years later and rose under the leadership of Johan Edlund to surpass almost all its competitors. Tiamat owes this rise to two consecutive albums; “Clouds” (1992) and “Wildhoney” (1994). In these albums, when they switched from the pure-blood death metal sound of their previous albums to the death metal sound inspired by doom and psyhedelic rock, they were not surprised by the press and their fans, and their original ideas were rewarded. “Wildhoney” became one of the best-selling albums of the band’s record company, Century Media Records. After this album, Tiamat became the headliner at many festivals and toured with dozens of bands, including Black Sabbath and Type O Negative
