American alternative rock band The Neighbourhood will perform in Istanbul for the first time on Sunday 26 April at KüçükÇiftlik Park, presented by Epifoni. Known for their moody blend of alternative rock, indie pop, and atmospheric R&B influences, the band rose to global prominence in the 2010s with a sound that helped shape a darker, more introspective side of mainstream alternative music. Tickets for the 27th are sold out. Tickets for the 26th available available via Passo.
Formed in 2011 in Newbury Park, California, The Neighbourhood quickly gained international attention with their breakout single “Sweater Weather,” which went on to become one of the most recognizable alternative hits of the decade, amassing billions of streams worldwide. Their music pairs minimal guitar riffs, layered electronic textures, and the distinctive vocals of frontman Jesse Rutherford, creating a sonic identity that balances melancholic atmosphere with accessible melodies.
Across albums such as I Love You., Wiped Out!, Hard to Imagine the Neighbourhood Ever Changing, and Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones, the band has continuously expanded its sound while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic and introspective lyrical style. Their newest album ((((((ultraSOUND)))))) continues that evolution, blending elements of indie rock, electronic production, and alternative pop while revisiting the atmospheric qualities that first defined their work.
With a global fanbase and a catalog of widely recognized songs, The Neighbourhood’s Istanbul debut promises a night that moves between atmospheric indie anthems and the darker, cinematic textures that have made the band a defining voice of modern alternative music.
