Salon IKSV will host Algerian folk artist Souad Massi on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 March. Set to start at 21:30, tickets are priced at 60 TL (45 TL for students) and are available via Biletix (Wednesday/Thursday).
From the organizer:
Massi has started her career with the Algerian rock band Atakor, drew attention with her political lyrics and moved to Paris upon receiving death threats. Shook hands with Island Records after taking the stage at Femmes d’Algerie festival in Paris. She was described worldwide as the best new musician from the North of Africa with her album ‘Raoui’ that carries the same name with her most popular song. Massi blew the minds of world music followers with songs she has written in Arabic, French, English and Tamazight that came alive in her bright vocals. Massi is now on the Salon stage with melodies of peace that doom national boundaries irrelevant.
