South African painter and inter-disciplinary artist Diana Page will host her pop-up exhibition “Shall I paint you a picture?” from Friday 21 April (starting at 17:30) through Saturday 22 April. Diana is also a guest speaker for the upcoming Expat Spotlight #3: The Arts.
From the organizer:
South African painter and inter-disciplinary artist Diana Page exhibits her evocations of Istanbul, Cape Town and New York.
This week she stages a POP UP exhibition of her recent paintings and digital drawings at her studio on the Bosphorus.
The POP UP show entitled ‘Shall I paint you a picture?’ intends to demystify the art making process for the viewer.
Taking her cue from writer, Alain de Botton, who as invited curator at the Rijks Museum, Amsterdam, created giant Post-its, posing questions and prompts to the viewer as a way of creating connection with their everyday lives, Page offers a twist on this idea providing Post-its to the viewer as a way of inviting him or her into a closer conversation with the art works.
The exhibition opens at 5.30 pm on Friday 21 April and continues all day Saturday 22 April.
