Greek symphonic death metal titans Septicflesh will take the stage at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage on Friday 03 October for a landmark performance. Presented by 100% Metal in collaboration with Black Label Events, Vera Music, and Hammer Music, the show promises to be a rare orchestral fusion, merging the band’s iconic heaviness with sweeping classical arrangements. Formed in Athens in 1990, Septicflesh has established itself as one of the leading forces in symphonic death metal. Founding members Spiros “Seth Siro Anton” Antoniou (vocals, bass), Christos Antoniou (guitar, orchestrations), and Sotiris Vayenas (guitar, clean vocals) pushed the band through early releases such as Mystic Places of Dawn (1994), Esoptron (1995), and Ophidian Wheel (1997), gradually integrating operatic vocals, choral and orchestral textures.
After a hiatus beginning in 2003, Septicflesh reunited in 2007 and released Communion (2008), featuring a full orchestra and choir, and followed with acclaimed albums including The Great Mass (2011), Titan (2014), Codex Omega (2017), and Modern Primitive (2022).
On the night of October 3rd, Septicflesh will perform live alongside a full orchestra, bringing to life their hauntingly grand compositions with new orchestral arrangements. The orchestral direction will be under Turkish conductor, keyboardist, arranger, and composer Eren Başbuğ, known for his classical training, international collaborations, and arranging work for bands such as Dream Theater and Jordan Rudess.
Attendees can expect a journey through the group’s most celebrated works, where brutal riffs and guttural vocals intertwine with cinematic strings, choirs, and epic atmospheres. The performance aims not just to present songs, but to transform them into a sweeping dark art experience where myth, philosophy, and sonic power collide on stage.
This evening at Zorlu PSM promises to be an extraordinary convergence of metal and orchestral majesty that both longtime fans and newcomers will remember.
