British indie rock band, Porridge Radio will perform at Blind in Istanbul on Thursday 08 May. Fronted by vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Dana Margolin, the band also includes keyboardist Georgie Stott, drummer Sam Yardley, and bassist Dan Hutchins. Tickets are on sale at Biletix and Biletino.
The name “Porridge Radio” was chosen randomly by Margolin, who thought it sounded both silly and intriguing. They released their debut album, “Rice, Pasta and Other Fillers”, in 2016. Their 2020 album, “Every Bad”, received critical acclaim and was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize. This success was followed by “Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder to the Sky” in 2022, which marked their first entry into the UK Top 40 Album Chart. While often classified as indie rock or post-punk, their music blends elements of grunge, pop, and folk, making them hard to pin down to one style.
