World-renowned circus company Cirque du Soleil brings its large-scale production OVO to Ülker Sports and Event Hall from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 May, presenting eight performances that transform the arena into a vibrant ecosystem inspired by the hidden world of insects. Blending high-level acrobatics, immersive stage design, and rhythm-driven live music, OVO invites audiences into a colorful micro-universe where movement and imagination take center stage. Additional details, showtimes, and tickets are available via Biletinial.

The title OVO, meaning “egg” in Portuguese, serves as both symbol and narrative anchor. At the heart of the performance is a mysterious egg that appears within a bustling insect community, disrupting its rhythm and sparking curiosity, interaction, and transformation. Through this concept, the show explores themes of life, change, and interconnectedness, conveyed through Cirque du Soleil’s signature fusion of athletic precision and theatrical storytelling.
Founded in the 1980s in Quebec by street performers including Gilles Ste-Croix and later shaped by Guy Laliberté, Cirque du Soleil evolved from modest outdoor performances into one of the world’s most influential live entertainment companies.
Since formally adopting its name in 1984, the company has redefined contemporary circus by focusing on human physical artistry, original music, and large-scale design. Its productions have toured globally, consistently merging technical excellence with imaginative world-building.
OVO stands out within the company’s repertoire for its ensemble-driven choreography and insect-inspired movement language. The production features a wide range of acrobatic disciplines, from high-energy tumbling to aerial sequences that evoke agility and transformation. Costume design by Liz Vandal draws inspiration from organic forms and graphic silhouettes, while stage design by Gringo Cardia creates a shifting landscape reminiscent of forests and hidden natural environments.
With its expansive visual scale, rhythmic intensity, and technically demanding performances, OVO highlights the creative scope and physical artistry that have made Cirque du Soleil a global cultural phenomenon.
