Caddebostan Kültür Merkezi will play host to COMIKON Istanbul on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October. The event – a tribute to the manga, anime, and the surrounding cultures – includes talks, workshops, musical performances, cosplay, and more. Tickets are priced at 30 TL (60 TL combo for both days) and available via their official site.
Saturday’s program includes talks on the state of manga in Turkey, manga and anime education in Japan, character design, space design and more. Workshops include manga drawing, armor design, helmet design, manga and creativity, painting and detailing in prop costumes and more. An award ceremony for the ANISONG GRAND PRIX will also take place. Dilara Aybar and Electric Ribbon are among the performances on the day.
Sunday’s program includes short animation screenings and talks which include how to produce anime, the big creators in the genre, publishing, scenarios, and merchandising. Workshops cover plastic modeling, plastic make-up, manga scenarios, basic modeling, and much more. Electric Ribbon and several award ceremonies will close out the evening.
