Babylon Bomonti will host local performer Mehmet Erdem on Thursday 3 May. Doors open at 20:30, with ticket details soon to be announced.

An active musician even during his school years, Mehmet Erdem was a member of numerous bands as an instrumentalist or a vocalist and contributed to many musicians’ albums as a studio musician while in high school. During this period, he took lessons from leading musicians to learn how to play the fretless guitar and folk string instruments such as the oud, cümbüş and bağlama. In 2008, he won the “Best Movie Soundtrack” award at the Golden Orange Film Festival for music from the film Deli Deli Olma, which he had co-produced with Özgür Akgül. Furhermore, he has written original pieces of music for various movies and TV shows, including Çalgı Çengi, Memleket Meselesi, Sizi Seviyorum,Polis, Dol, Avrupa Avrupa, Kalbim Seni Seçti, Leyla ile Mecnun, Kalpsiz Adam and Sınıf.
