From the organizer
Inspired by the cosmopolitan life of her homeland, the artist delicately blends Ethiopian Jazz with funk, soul, and R&B. Releasing her first eponymous album one year after releasing her self-written and composed EP “Life Happens” in 2003, Ester Rada’s popularity grew quickly. She took the stage in numerous major festivals like Glastonbury Festival during her tour covering the US, Canada, and Europe. Alicia Keys says “Unbelievable” for the musician who surprises music fans with her voice’s resemblance with Aretha Franklin’s. Like the influential 20th century musicians, such as Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald, Ester Rada is a one of a kind voice of her time.
