Embark on a unique sonic journey through Büyükdere with the Music Route event as part of the İKSV 53rd Istanbul Music Festival where historical churches become concert halls for a day on Saturday, 21 June. Guided by Mois Gabay and Selçuk Eracun, this immersive experience offers live classical music performances paired with cultural insights from expert guides.Tickets are available at Passo.
The route begins at Surp Bogos Armenian Catholic Church, where the Polish Violin Duo performs works like Miklós Rózsa’s Sonata for Two Violins, Eugène Ysaÿe’s Sonata in A minor, and Vivaldi’s Summer from The Four Seasons — a passionate start to a musically rich afternoon.
The next stop is Agia Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church, where Duo Minerva brings a colorful set of pieces including Gershwin’s Songbook, Beethoven’s Eliza 1900, and Nino Rota’s Speak Softly, Love, blending classical tradition with cinematic flair.
The final concert takes place at Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, featuring Duo La Ragione – De Vitis. Their program spans Baroque brilliance and Mediterranean warmth, with compositions by Scarlatti, Albéniz, Soler, and J.S. Bach performed on mandolin and guitar.
