(June 16) Model/Actriz @ Blind

Brooklyn quartet Model/Actriz make their first appearance at Blind on Tuesday 16 June, bringing a sound that fuses the abrasion of post-punk with the pulse and physicality of underground club music. Few contemporary bands manage to occupy both spaces so convincingly. Their music is as indebted to noise rock and industrial tension as it is to the communal release of the dancefloor, resulting in performances that feel confrontational and ecstatic in equal measure. Tickets are available at Biletix.

Formed in New York, Model/Actriz built their identity through relentless live shows long before wider recognition arrived. Their breakthrough album Dogsbody introduced a stark, tightly wound aesthetic driven by percussive repetition and sharp dynamic shifts. The record positioned them within a lineage that includes the theatrical intensity of early industrial and the angular minimalism of late 70s post-punk, yet their approach feels distinctly contemporary. Vocalist Cole Haden’s delivery moves between vulnerability and provocation, often treating the stage as a space for both confrontation and catharsis.

What sets Model/Actriz apart is their relationship to rhythm. The band understands that tension alone is not enough. Beneath the distortion and jagged guitar work lies an undeniable groove, one that draws from club culture as much as from guitar-driven traditions. The result is music that does not simply demand attention but invites physical response. Songs build patiently, locking into hypnotic cycles before erupting into release, a structure that mirrors the logic of a DJ set as much as a rock concert.

Live, that sensibility becomes fully embodied. Model/Actriz are known for performances that blur the boundary between performer and audience, channeling sweat, noise, and movement into something communal. Tuesday 16 June offers a first encounter with a band that treats intensity not as a pose but as a method, reshaping the vocabulary of post-punk for a generation raised equally on warehouse parties and basement shows.
