Zorlu PSM will host Karsu on Friday 4 May. Doors are set to open at 20.30, with tickets priced at 90 TL and available via Biletix.
From the organizer:
The Dutch-Turkish singer/pianist Karsu has played stages all over the world and with her mix of jazz, pop, classical and Turkish folk music she has become an acclaimed artist. Her fabulous piano playing would almost make you forget where her power lies: her voice that covers all registers and hits the listener right in the heart, even if you do not understand the text.
In this theatre production ‘Karsu sings Atlantic Records’, she will perform songs with a powerful band of the time that Atlantic Record has just started. She takes you into the world of Jazz & Blues. But what many do not know is that the founder Ahmet Ertegün, of Turkish origin, has been one of the founders in the oppressive times of ‘black music’. Ahmet has put forward talents since the foundation of Atlantic Records (1947), such as Ray Charles, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, The Bee Gees, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and Cher. Karsu will perform his journey through music.
