Salon IKSV will host electronic outfit Mammal Hands on Thursday 27 October. Set to start at 21:30, tickets are priced at 45 TL for a table, 35 TL for standing and 25 TL for students, all which are available via Biletix.
From the organizer:
Formed in the April of 2012 with Jesse joining the brothers Nick and Jordan who were already playing as an electronic duo. The band increased its hypnotic impact with rhythmic patterns and melodic lines that Jesse borrowed from the shamanic tradition, especially from the tabla master Sirishkumar Manji, becoming a mutated John Coltrane with influences of jazz harmonies and contemporary classical music. First album Floa came in 2014, while the second, Animalia, in May 2016. Having a fans list that includes Bonobo, Gilles Peterson ve Jamie Cullum, the band dropped like a bomb to the sonic geography of jazz music with their amazing performances at London King’s Palace and Montreal Jazz Festival. Mammal Hands visits Salon with their eclectic work, travelling through sufi and shamanic tradition to Afro-trance, Irish and Eastern European folk music to Philip Glass.
