Trying to balance my life is quite a job in the big city. That’s why I have been making time for the things I love – eating well, taking daily walks in the park and getting back to my yoga practice. Back in my NY internet days (and nights) finding a balance was so much harder until I discovered private yoga classes. My schedule was (and is!) so changeable, I could never make it to class and that’s when I discovered class could come to me.
From the very first moment, I was hooked. I loved all the attention and fine tuning, not to mention the patience, compassion and wonder I learned. I also learned that the conversation I had with my body was a doorway to having a larger conversation with my soul. Oh, that sounds woo woo, I know, but I loved the blissed-out, loving, connected feeling that a great yoga practice can give. I know you’re probably saying to yourself – I’m not good at it, or I really want an intense movement-based practice or, I want to get my mind, body and spirit to the next level. I know just the thing – a private yoga class with Sayora. She understands the type of practice you need and can instinctively get the pace and intensity that is right for you. She’s the gentlest teacher I’ve ever met – yet, she never lets me off the proverbial hook. In fact, for the first time I was able to do a backbend I had never been able to do before. Once you’ve set up an appointment and answered a few questions, Sayora will create a class tailored just for you.
Want to try a group class before making a one-on-one commitment? Then check out her weekly class during the month of December at Umeyoga in Etiler. If you’re still unsure (or if your budget is an issue), visit her website and buy her DVD (you can watch the trailer here). That way you can try out Cosmic Yoga at home whenever you want. Cosmic Yoga is a powerful practice and one that Sayora invented using her many years of teaching experience in Afghanistan. If she can create peace and balance for aid workers and Afghani women who lived under conditions of war, just think of the levels of yogic healing she can bring to you.
Cosmic Yoga is perfect for every level of practice from beginner to advanced. Just do what you feel comfortable doing is what Sayora often says. I hadn’t done yoga in over a year and was a bit stiff and unsure and ok, a little fearful, as well. I was so very glad I did. My body flowed into the different asanas and I felt great. What a perfect gift to myself. So get ready for a life-changing, out-of-this-world Cosmic Yoga session that will make your remember how beautiful and powerful you are. You’ll be glad too.
I would recommend Sayora’s yoga class too!
I love it, more fitness.
She’s awesome!
