Tuesday 14 July & Thursday 16 July, Gorillaz take the stage at Bonus Parkorman with the organization of Pozitif and Charm Music, marking their long-awaited Türkiye debut. Tickets went on sale last year through official platforms including Biletix, Passo, Biletinial, and the 16 July show is now completely sold out due to overwhelming demand, leaving limited availability for the 14 July date. This is a rare opportunity to experience Gorillaz’s genre-defying live show in Türkiye for the first time, blending iconic hits with cutting-edge visual production in an unforgettable summer concert.
Formed in London in 1998, Gorillaz emerged as a truly unique project when musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett teamed up to create a virtual band that challenged the conventions of the music industry. Rather than sticking to a traditional lineup, they envisioned a group of animated characters -2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel Hobbs- whose fictional world became the canvas for real, boundary-pushing music.
Behind the scenes, Albarn provided the musical backbone while Hewlett crafted the visuals, resulting in a concept that blended alternative rock, hip-hop, electronic, and pop influences. Their approach was both playful and provocative, using cartoon personas to explore and satirize pop culture while delivering songs that resonated far beyond the animation.
Their big breakthrough came with their self-titled debut album in 2001, which introduced the world to Gorillaz’s innovative blend of styles and quirky animated personas. The record laid the foundation for their long-lasting impact on pop and alternative music, showcasing hits like “Clint Eastwood” that became instant favorites.
But it was their follow-up albums — particularly 2005’s Demon Days and later classics like Plastic Beach — that solidified their global reputation. Songs such as “Feel Good Inc.” and “Tomorrow Comes Today” weren’t just successful — they became defining tracks of the 2000s era, seamlessly mixing hip-hop, rock, electronica, and world music influences into something entirely new.
Over the years, Gorillaz continued to evolve, experimenting with different collaborators and sounds across albums like Cracker Island (2023) and their upcoming 2026 release The Mountain — a genre-spanning project that features contributions from a wide array of international artists and further expands their sonic palette.
After exploring new directions through the 2010s and beyond, Gorillaz returned with renewed momentum in the 2020s, culminating in Cracker Island in 2023 and their eagerly awaited The Mountain set for early 2026, an album that showcases the band’s continuing inventiveness and global collaborations across languages and styles.
Unlike many of their early-2000s contemporaries, Gorillaz never tried to simply replicate past successes; they’ve consistently reinvented themselves while keeping the adventurous spirit that first captured fans’ imaginations.
For longtime fans, seeing them live is a chance to relive decades of boundary-pushing creativity; for newer audiences, it’s an opportunity to experience firsthand what has made them one of the most innovative acts in modern music. Either way, their Istanbul shows promise to be immersive, unforgettable celebrations of sound and art.
Tickets are available via Biletix, Passo, Biletinial and more, with the 14 July show still on sale and the 16 July concert already sold out. Don’t miss out!
