British instrumental ensemble GoGo Penguin is uniting with fans once again in Istanbul! With a rich variety of influences, the trio masterfully blends nu-jazz, electronica, ambient and minimalist genres. Attendees will be in for a treat at 100% Studio on Thursday, 15 December. Blending jazz, electronica and Nu-jazz with experimental and minimalist approaches, GoGo Penguin is coming to %100 Studio on the evening of December 15th, with the contribution of %100 Music.
Consisting of pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Blacka and drummer Jon Scott, Manchester-based GoGo Penguin draws attention with its hypnotic melodies, deep bass and variable rhythm tracks. Although their music is generally defined as acoustic-electronic; They also make great use of rock, jazz, minimalism, game soundtracks and glitchy electronics. Thanks to their music appealing to the heart, mind and feet, the trio, who was selected as the album of the year at the prestigious Mercury awards with their v2.0 album, created the music for Godfrey Reggio’s cult film Koyaanisqatsi. Known for their exciting live performances, Gogo Penguin is getting ready to tour for the first time with their drummer Jon Scott!
