Babylon Bomonti will host Turkish ska punk band Athena for an acoustic set on Thursday 31 March. Doors open at 20:30, with ticket prices soon to be announced and available via Biletix.
Perhaps one of Turkey’s most well-known bands, Athena was formed in 1987 (originally playing metal) and currently features the talents of Hakan Özoğuz (guitar and backing vocals), Gökhan Özoğuz (lead vocals and guitar), Umut Arabacı (bass), Emre Ataker (keyboards) and Sinan Tinar (drums). Having represented Turkey in the 2004 edition of Eurovision, the band has also performed at international festivals and alongside famous acts such as the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Beastie Boys, The Cardigans, Suede and many more. Their most recent album Altüst (Upside Down) was released in 2014.
