As part of the IKSV 52nd Music Festival, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, conducted by Iván Fischer, collaborates with acclaimed pianist Francesco Piemontesi for an electrifying all-Brahms evening. Taking place at Atatürk Cultural Centre on Monday 03 June, the event is set to start at 20:00. Tickets are available via Passo.
The concert programme begins with the lively “Hungarian Dance No. 10 in F Major” by Johannes Brahms, followed by a riveting performance of Brahms’ monumental “Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major, op. 83,” showcasing Piemontesi’s exceptional command of the German Classical and Romantic repertoire. After the interval, the orchestra returns to present Brahms’ spirited “Hungarian Dance No. 7 in F Major” before concluding the evening with a stirring rendition of Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 in D Major, op. 73.
The duration of the performance, including an interval, is approximately 120 minutes. Prior to the concert, attendees can participate in a pre-concert talk conducted in Turkish, featuring Aydın Büke and Evin İlyasoğlu, who will explore the themes of “Brahms and Hungarian Music.” With the Budapest Festival Orchestra’s esteemed reputation as one of the world’s top-10 orchestras, combined with Piemontesi’s virtuosity, this promises to be an unforgettable musical experience for all.
