(April 20) Black Country, New Road @ Blind

British experimental rock collective Black Country, New Road will take the stage at IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş on Monday 20 April as part of the Garanti BBVA Genç Konserleri series, presented by Blind. Emerging over the past decade as one of the most daring and shape shifting acts in contemporary guitar music, the band has built a reputation for emotionally intricate songwriting, dynamic arrangements, and a willingness to radically reconfigure their own sound. Tickets are available via Biletix.

Their third studio album, Forever Howlong, marks another decisive reinvention. Now operating as a six piece collective following a pivotal lineup change in 2022, vocal and songwriting duties are shared between Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery, and May Kershaw. This distributed creative approach gives the record a striking sense of continuity while opening new tonal and narrative perspectives.

Where their earlier work leaned heavily into anxious post punk crescendos and spoken word intensity, this chapter feels more layered and compositionally expansive, folding in chamber pop textures, folk inflections, and a heightened melodic sensibility.

Since their Mercury Prize nominated debut For the first time and the sweeping follow up Ants From Up There, Black Country, New Road have stood at the forefront of the UK’s experimental rock resurgence.

TyouTheir evolution has been public and deliberate, transforming uncertainty into artistic propulsion. On stage, that transformation translates into performances that feel both meticulously arranged and emotionally volatile, balancing orchestral detail with raw immediacy.
