(Jun. 16) BIFO: Morricone – The Sound of Cinema @ Atatürk Cultural Centre

On Tuesday 16 June, BIFO: Morricone – The Sound of Cinema features Borusan İstanbul Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Dirk Brossé at Atatürk Cultural Centre, Türk Telekom Opera Salonu as part of the 54th Istanbul Music Festival. The concert brings to life iconic film music composed by Ennio Morricone, performed with a full orchestra, choir, and soloists. Tickets are available via Passo.

The programme celebrates the unforgettable soundtracks that helped define cinematic history, including music from Sergio Leone westerns, The Mission, Inglourious Basterds, Marco Polo and more. Morricone’s work spans over 500 film scores and concert pieces, blending emotional depth with unforgettable melodies that continue to inspire audiences worldwide.

Under Dirk Brossé’s direction, BİFO performs with contributions from Koro İstanbul, soprano Nazlıcan Karakaş, flutist Veronika Vitazkova, and other instrumentalists, creating a rich and varied sonic palette. The concert explores both well‑known themes and lesser‑heard suites that trace Morricone’s impact across genres and decades.
