After a two-year break, the rising star of the Berlin electronic music scene, Ben Böhmer, returns with Charm Music Turkey organization to Maximum UNIQ Open Air on the evening of October 4th!
Ben Böhmer, the brightest rising star of German electronic music and one of the most captivating names on the scene, continues to go from strength to strength. The 30-year-old Berlin-based producer and live act achieved great success with his sophomore album ‘Begin Again’, released on Anjunadeep in September 2021. The album has since amassed over 135 million streams.
The album ‘Begin Again’ was written entirely during a period when Ben and his fiancé were separated on opposite sides of the world due to the global travel ban. The emotions of this experience are laden throughout its sonic textures and songwriting. Seamlessly cascading from laidback and introspective instrumentals to searing and rich club music, the album features elevating collaborations with Gordi, lau.ra, PBSR, and JONAH that perfectly capture the longing and uncertainty surrounding Ben’s love life at the time.
In support of the album, Ben embarked on a 75,000 ticket headline tour at the start of 2022. All dates were sold out months in advance and included marquee performances at Brixton Academy and The Roundhouse in London, UFO in Berlin, Reunion Park in Melbourne, The Fonda Theatre in LA, and Brooklyn Steel in New York.
Following the tour, Ben delivered high-profile festival performances including Glastonbury, Primavera, Sziget, Lost Village, EDC, and Life Is Beautiful. This autumn, he debuted his Portraet series in the US for the first time, following a successful launch in Ibiza last summer. The series saw him headline sold-out shows at iconic venues such as The Shrine in LA and Brooklyn Mirage in NY, where he was supported by the likes of TSHA and Barry Can’t Swim.
In October, Ben made a triumphant return musically with the anthemic ‘One Last Call’ – his first original song since the release of ‘Begin Again’. This single also marked a move to Ninja Tune, where Ben now sits alongside a multitude of other acclaimed electronic producers including Bonobo and Odesza.
