Irish alternative rock band Cardinals makes its Turkish debut at Blind on Thursday 26 November. Emerging from Cork’s vibrant independent music scene, the five-piece has quickly established itself as one of Ireland’s most promising new acts through a sound that moves between melodic indie rock, post-punk and folk-influenced songwriting. Their music balances moments of quiet vulnerability with sudden bursts of intensity, creating songs that feel equally intimate and expansive. Tickets are available via BUGECE.
Founded by brothers Euan and Finn Manning alongside their cousin Darragh and longtime friends Oskar Gudinovic and Aaron Hurley, Cardinals developed a distinctive musical identity rooted in emotional contrasts. Their debut album, Masquerade, introduced a collection of songs that explores themes of hope, loss and uncertainty through dynamic arrangements that shift effortlessly between delicate melodies and driving guitar passages. Structured with the spirit of a classic vinyl record in mind, the album presents two contrasting emotional worlds while remaining connected by the band’s thoughtful songwriting and understated sense of drama.
Recorded at London’s RAK Studios with producer Shrink, Masquerade favours an organic recording process that captures the immediacy of a live performance. Eschewing rigid studio techniques in favour of natural interaction between the musicians, the album preserves the warmth and spontaneity that have become central to the band’s sound. This approach is particularly evident in its quieter moments, where intimacy carries as much weight as volume.
Following growing recognition across Ireland and the UK, Cardinals arrives in Turkey for its first local performance at an important early stage in the band’s career. Their live shows translate the emotional range of Masquerade into performances that emphasise atmosphere, musicianship and the subtle tension between fragility and catharsis.
