Zorlu PSM will host Texas on Sunday, 24 June. Doors are set to open at 20.00, with tickets priced at 95 TL and available via Biletix.

From the organizer:

Record-breaking Scottish pop rock band Texas will be at Zorlu PSM Main Theatre on June 24!

Formed in 1986 in Glasgow, Texas is co-founded by former Altered Images and Hipsway guitarist and songwriter Johnny McElhone and vocalist Sharleen Spiteri.  Made their performing debut in 1988 at University of Dundee, the band adopted their name from 1984 Wim Wenders movie Paris, Texas.

The band released their debut album “Southside” in 1989 and the album single “I Don’t Want a Lover” became a huge hit, debuting at number three in UK charts as well as US Billboard 200.

1997 release “White on Blonde” was a huge success, crashing the first place at various charts and becoming their bestseller. They achieved similar success with their 1999 release “The Hush” and 2000 release “Greatest Hits”. Their upcoming releases, in 2003 “Careful What You Wish For” and 2005 “Red Book” were also milestones at Texas discography.

Supporting the “Red Book” release, the band announced a tour. All of a sudden, Texas went hiatus, as the band members like Spiteri started a solo career. However, the band got together soon, following the hospitalisation of the band member Ally McErlaine from a brain aneurysm.

As of 2017, Texas’ sales were 40 million records  and they have had thirteen UK top ten singles, three UK number one albums and eight UK top ten albums, including their ninth studio album, Jump on Board which was released in May 2017, debuting atop of the Scottish Albums Charts and within the top ten in France, the United Kingdom and Belgium.

Join Texas to sing along memorable hits like “Say What You Want”, “For Everything”, “Summer Son” and “Black Eyed Boy” along with a dynamic live performance on June 24 at Zorlu PSM Main Theatre!
