Zorlu PSM will host Travis on Friday, 8 June. Doors are set to open at 20.30, with tickets priced at 125 TL and available via Biletix.

Record breaking Scottish rock band Travis will be performing their second album “The Man Who” released in 1999 and other major hits on June 8 at Zorlu PSM Main Theatreas part of Garanti Jazz Green Concerts!
Formed in 1990 in Glasgow, Travis is composed of vocalist Fran Healy, bass guitarist Dougie Payne, lead guitarist Andy Dunlop and Neil Primrose on drums. Group adopted its name from character Travis Henderson from Wim Wenders movie “Paris, Texas”. Travis is acclaimed to have paved the way for bands such as Keane and Coldplay, together shaping contemporary rock scene.
The band released their debut album “Good Feeling” in 1997. Having captured a great attention for a newbie band, the album debuted at number 9 on UK Albums Charts. However, the band really enjoyed success with the release of their second album “The Man Who” in 1999 which immediately debuted at number 1 on UK Albums Chart and stayed for consequent nine weeks. Having stayed in Top 100 for a total of 134 weeks, Travis sold 2.68 million copies of the album solely in the UK.
Travis released their third album “The Invisible Band” in 2001. As successful as “The Man Who”, the album debuted at number 1 at the UK Albums Chart and stayed for consequent four weeks. Completed 55 weeks at Top 100, Travis’ songs started to spread across the world. “The Invisible Band” peaked at number 39 at US Billboard 200, spreading Travis word across the US.
More recently the band released “12 Memories” (2003), “The Boy With No Name” (2007), “Ode to J. Smith”(2008), “Where You Stand” (2013) and “Everything at Once” in 2016. In 2004, they brought together their favorite hit songs in the album “Singles” which stayed at number one for following nine weeks.
Travis received numerous awards during its music life. Notable includes two-times winner of the “Best Album” at the BRIT Awards and NME “Artist of the Year” in 2000. In 2016, Travis was honoured by the Scottish Music Awards for its contributions to country music.
“Songs are like emotional bookmarks in time,” Fran Healy said. “When you hear a song you are transported to those times and feel strong echoes of the feelings you felt. Rarely does an album have this ability so performing ‘The Man Who’ is going to be a joyous occasion.” Travis will perform 19 year old album “The Man Who” and other unforgettable hits like “Sing”, “Why Does It Always Rain On Me?”, “Closer” and “Side” alongside with their amazing live performance.
