Salon IKSV will host the Swedish Duo “The Radio Dept.” on Friday 28 April. Set to start at 22:00, tickets are priced at 50 TL (40 TL for students) and are available via Biletix.
From the organizer:
The Radio Dept. was formed by Elin Almered and Johan Duncanson in 1995, taking its name from a gas station in Sweden. When the duo disbanded, Duncanson led the way by taking Martin Larsson as his co-pilot. Their debut album ‘Lesser Matters’ from 2003 was shown among the ‘Best 50 Albums of the Year’ by NME. ‘Pulling Our Weight’ and ‘Keen on Boys’ made them gain wider attention. Their songs were also featured in Sofia Coppola’s film ‘Marie Antoinette’. 2015 was the year of their return. After several changes in the band’s crew, Duncanson and Larsson decided to move on on their own and shifted their style to a more Pet Shop Boys-inspired disco and dance music, and took the stage at Coachella again after years of break. This is their second visit to Salon, thanks to their 2016 album ‘Running out of Love’. Having refused to work with major labels, the DIY band will meet the audiences in Istanbul with songs that will send you to a feel-good movie.
