Summer is coming, which means Turkey´s festival season is about to start. Even though the number of outdoor and open air festivals has definitely decreased in the last years, there are still some for all the music lovers out there, bringing together local and international performers, artists, concepts and more.
We don´t want you to face this season of sun, drinks and nightlong dancing unprepared. We’ve compiled a summer roundup of music festivals! Most of them will take place around Istanbul, but if you dare to leave town for holidays and want to combine it with some cultural aspects, there’s also plenty of opportunity.

Chill-Out Festival Istanbul
This festival will transform Lifepark on the 20th and 21st of May, from fast city life into a natural and alternative atmosphere. Tickets for both days are set at 216 TL and available via Biletix.
Whoever misses those dates or wants to have the experience in the South of Turkey can visit Chill Out´s offshoot at Bodrum on July 14th and 15th.
Cappadox “Ways Out From The World”:
This year’s Cappadox Festival looks to be the best yet, revolving around the theme of “Ways Out From The World”, and set in stunning Cappadocia from Thursday 18 through Sunday 21 May. The festival has a diverse program, blending music, contemporary art, gastronomy and outdoor activities together. Contemporary art plays its part with geology tours, flora walks, and opportunities to interact with curators and artists. Tastings, open fire cooking, picnics, silent walks, cycling, running, yoga, meditation and more also all make their appearances. Rock Off
The name of the Festival doesn´t promise more or less than it actually offers — a solid rock and metal festival.
Bands like Korn, Apocalyptica, Amon Amarth and Children of Bodom form the basis of a day in the name of guitar solos, screaming amps and long-haired guys. The festival will take place on the 29th of July. Tickets start at 165 TL and are available via Biletix.
Big Burn Istanbul @ Suma Beach
The longest camping opportunity for a music festival this year, Big Burn Istanbul is three days of sun, electronic music and beach vibes from Friday 21 through Sunday 23 July. Headliners include Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Loco Dice, Dixon, Nicole Moudaber, and Acid Pauli, with plenty of other performers in the mix. Various ticketing options include daily passes, two-day passes, three-day passes and the option to buy a three-day pass that includes the option of camping. All tickets are available via Biletix.
100% Music: Electronica Festival Istanbul 2017
A festival for all the electronic music lovers will take place on July 29 and 30 at the Suma Beach in Istanbul. Tickets are set to 131 TL and available via Biletix.

Zeytinli Rock Festivali
Between 24 and 27 August, the Zeytinli Festival offers a camping and music experience close to a sea in Balıkesir. Tickets start from 110 TL for all days and are available via Biletix
Babylon Soundgarden
This year´s edition of Soundgarden will be held on 9 September. The line-up is not announced yet, but they’ve usually had big names to show over the last years.
