MAVIBLAU, an online magazine for German-Turkish culture, will host “Keep Calm and Feel Arabesk” on Friday 2 December at SUPA Suriye Pasaji Salon. Entry is free, with doors opening at 20:00 and the proceedings following shortly after at 20:30.
From the organizer:
The online magazine for German-Turkish culture MAVIBLAU invites you to an evening of Arabesk on December 2nd in the SUPA Suriye Pasaji Salon in Istanbul.
No matter from what culture it originates: Music has a way of connecting people. Arabesk music goes even further and unites different cultures and influences in one type of music. That’s why MAVIBLAU wants to bring people together to feel the flair of Arabesk. A small quiz will give everyone the chance to test their knowledge on Arabesk or otherwise learn more about it. Afterwards you are invited to enjoy the evening through dancing and singing with the help of music, karaoke, or by writing your own songs.
MAVIBLAU has been writing about German-Turkish life since February 2015. But the team consisting of young people from Germany and Turkey does not only want to have an impact on the online world. Also offline they hope to contribute to an intercultural dialogue with events that bring people together. After film screenings, poetry slams, workshops and discussions, now the time has come for music and dance, so join us! Entry is free.
