CIRCUIT will host their long-anticipated “Art on a Card” exhibition and art sale on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 October. Friday’s program runs from 18:30 to 21:30, while Saturday’s extends from 13:00 to 18:00. Drinks and snacks will also be on sale. Postcards from the exhibition will remain on display through Tuesday 15 November.

CIRCUIT, a space for sustainable creativity in Yeldeğirmeni, is proud to host Art on a Card, an exhibition and art sale on Friday, 28 October, and Saturday, 29 October. Twelve Istanbul-based artists have been invited to create a set of five postcards inspired by Istanbul’s past, present and future, and how the development of the city over time relates to its sustainability. These sets will be on display at CIRCUIT, with a limited number available for purchase.
As Istanbul’s cityscape continues to change, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find spaces for artistic dialog and collaboration. Art on a Card is bringing together local and foreign artists working in various mediums to provide their own perspectives on Istanbul in postcard format. Moreover, by making ‘art on a card’ these artists are producing work that the broader public can easily access and afford. The artists will also be on hand for the two-day event to discuss their creations. The sets of postcards will remain on display at CIRCUIT until 15 November.
Art on a Card was originally scheduled to take place in April at Closet Circuit in Çukurcuma. After their building was scheduled for redevelopment, Closet Circuit closed their space, and the event was postponed. The organization has now re-opened under the new name CIRCUIT. Art on a Card marks the first exhibition and art event at their new space in Yeldeğirmeni, Kadiköy. For more information about CIRCUIT, please visit www.circuitistanbul.com.
