Milky Chance
Formed by the then-students Clemens Rehbein and Philipp Dausch, Milky Chance made quite the entrance to the music scene with the song “Stolen Dance,” released in 2013. On their debut album, Sadnecessary, the duo combines folk music with minimal electronic rhythms to offer an enjoyable blend with subtle references to reggae and R&B shining through.
Oscar & The Wolf
Originating in Gent, the electro-pop band Oscar & The Wolf released their first LP, Entity, in 2014 after achieving worldwide recognition in 2013 with the song “Orange Sky.” Entity, featuring contributions by Leo Abrahams (who has worked with some of the top names in music, including Brian Eno and Florence and the Machine), reached the top of the charts in Belgium. The band, which features a dark electronic sound rounded out by Max Colombie’s original vocals, has played at such international festivals as Montreux Jazz, The Great Escape, and Rock Wechter. Oscar & The Wolf, whose tickets sold out in 10 minutes when they played two nights at Babylon last winter, will re-unite with their fans at Soundgarden.
Jamie Woon
The British musician and producer Jamie Woon first captured people’s attention with “Night Air”, a track produced by Burial. The artist, who had the chance to work with Amy Winehouse in London, offers a refreshing take on soul music with vocals enriched by electronic elements. In addition to releasing his latest LP, Making Times, in November 2015, Woon also contributed to Portico’s “Living Fields” following the release his first album, Mirrorwriting, in 2011.
Büyük Ev Ablukada: Fırtınayt
Renowned band of İstanbul alternative music scene, Büyük Ev Ablukada will be performing their brand new electronic set, “Fırtınayt” after their spectecular “Acoustic” and “Full Faça” performances with a special production on stage.
Is Tropical
Established in London in 2009, Is Tropical quickly attracted French record company Kitsuné’s attention with its energetic songs. The foursome, who won the UK Music Video Awards with the video made for the song “The Greeks”, continued their success with “Native To” and “I’m Leaving” albums. The colorful band joined the Axis Mundi family in New York after Kitsuné, and will be completing their new album in 2016.
Jimmy Edgar (DJ Set)
One of the top names in Detroit Techno, Jimmy Edgar is considered to be a permanent influence in music. Edgar, who got into techno, g-funk and house music at a young age, plays several instruments, which he uses to enrich his live performances immensely. The futuristic sound of Jimmy Edgar, who, following numerous records released on Warp, K7!, Poker Flat, Hotflush and others, found his way to Ultramajic Records, invites listeners to dance.
Jacques Greene
An innovative member of the current music scene, the Canadian DJ and producer Jacques Greene has worked with Jimmy Edgar, Tinashe, How to Dress Well, Autre Ne Veut, and The XX, in addition to creating his own music. Greene turns up the beat with elements of trap, techno, and synth.
Débruit (Live)
Defining his style as “electronic with a human feel,” Débruit has positioned himself as a musical explorer. The musician, who started his journey at Red Bull Music Academy and has taken the stage at important festivals like 2009’s Sonar, translates the tunes of different cultures into his own language. Having collaborated with Jamie Woon, Om’Mas Keith, Alsarah, and The Bow previously, Débruit is getting ready for a performance in which he will combine the elements of world music, primarily afrobeat, with his own stylings.
Tiger & Woods
Tiger & Woods have been one of the most notable nu-disco bands in recent years with records such as Time, Gin Nation, and Deflowered, where they combined elements and samples of ‘70s disco with their own style. The fun duo comprised of Larry Tiger & David Woods is expected to deliver an upbeat performance.
Kaan Düzarat b2b Tufan Demir
The pride and joy of Istanbul’s electronic music stage and graduates of the Red Bull Music Academy, the Kaan Düzarat and Tufan Demir duo are joining forces at the Babylon Soundgarden. Kaan Düzarat and Tufan Demir, whom we have seen individually on the stage with their different sets and projects in Babylon, will be presenting their combined talent in Kilyos.
