The time has come for our third Instagram photo competition! After the success of our previous themes of “portraits” and “relationships”, we’re shaking things up this time by focusing on “hidden gems” – lesser known places/things that are worth capturing in photo. We’ll host our favorites (including from past competitions) at an exhibition at ATÖLYE on Thursday 23 November!
Not sure if you want to participate? Don’t worry, the rules are simple!
- Nab a photo of one your favorite lesser known aesthetic spots in Istanbul or Izmir. It doesn’t matter what or where it is… as long as it visually appeals to you. Restaurants, businesses, buildings, parks, bodies of water, graffiti, streets, rooftop views, little architectural details… everything goes!
- Follow us at @yabangee, and include our hashtag #yabangeeselects. If you’re back-tagging a photo taken before October 1st, 2017, you’ll want to also include the tag #yabangeegems so that we can be sure to include it.
- Include up to 50 words of text (Turkish is OK too, we can translate) giving us a bit of insight into the photo. We recommend not giving away the location, so that everyone can guess where it is.
- The deadline for submission is Wednesday 8 November at 23:59.
That’s it! The Yabangee team will vote among our favorites and host an exhibition to showcase the work of our finalists at ATÖLYE (Bomonti, Şişli).
