Pasion Turca will once again host Pink Martini, the world renowned (and beloved in Türkiye) group that cannot be contained within a single genre or language, set to perform on Sunday 21 July as party of their 30th Anniversary Tour. “Sympathique”, “Hang on Little Tomato”, “Hey Eugene! “, “Splendor in the Grass”, “Joy to the World”, “1969”, “A Retrospective”, “Get Happy”, “Dream A Little Dream”, “Je Dis Oui” and “Dream A Little Dream” albums, Pink Martini, which has a huge fan base in Turkey and recently released the album “Thomas Lauderdale Meets The Pilgrims”, which took over 25 years to prepare, is preparing to meet its fans in Turkey on 30 June at Turkcell Vadi Istanbul with the organisation of Pasion Turca as part of its European tour.
Interpreting beautiful songs in the album “Je Dis Oui”, the band made a big surprise for their Turkish fans and included the song “My Love was Spring”.
Pink Martini finally released their long-awaited album “Thomas Lauderdale Meets The Pilgrims”, recorded simultaneously with their first album “Sympathique”, which made a worldwide impact at the beginning of their career, on May 2023 with Heinz Records. The album consists of 11 songs, including interpretations of popular songs such as “Night and Day”, “Malagueña” and “Rhapsody in Blue”.
The songs of the ensemble, which describes themselves as “music archaeologists who bring together melodies and rhythms from different corners of the world and present them in a modern form”, have been featured in many TV series and films from La Casa De Papel to The West Wing to Desperate Housewives.
Performing the most enjoyable songs from the love songs of the samurai to the Cuban music of the 1930s, from French chansons to Brazilian street songs, the ensemble will meet their fans at Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater on July 21 with a spectacular concert featuring the warm vocals of China Forbes and Storm Large as a guest artist.
